On Tuesday 28th June 2022, members of the Fox Rodney team attended the London Legal Walk. We started on Carey Street and walked 10km, through Hyde Park and St James Park. Over 12,000 individuals were accompanied by the Lord Chief Justice to raise funds for the independent charity, the London Legal Support Trust. This ended with a street party on Carey Street with street food vendors, fire jugglers, musicians and a complimentary drink in the Knights Templar and Law Society bars. The London Legal Walk was a fabulous success and they have raised £550,000 so far this year.

The London Legal Walk is an annual fundraising event, bringing the legal community together in support of free legal advice services. It raises funds for the London Legal Support Trust which funds Law Centre’s and pro bono agencies in and around London. Two-thirds of the UK population are unsure on how to get legal advice and 14 million people who live in poverty can’t afford to pay for it. The London Legal Walk raises vital funds to ensure access to justice for some of communities’ most poor and vulnerable people. The need for free legal help with debt, benefits, housing, asylum, and domestic violence is now greater than ever!

Now more than ever with the long-term challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic our support was needed. Reduced funding in the charity sector during Covid-19 meant advice agencies are doing all they can to meet rising need despite a drastically restricted income.
